Talk about Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (USA):
Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.Transistor persamaan solenoid module. Loaded with two dozen of the greatest video games of all time, game histories, developer interviews and gaming documents, Midway Arcade Treasures is a classic video game amusement park.
The game comes with Spy Hunter, Robotron 2084, Marble Madness, Defender, Defender II, Smash TV, 720(degree), Bubbles, Toobin', Guantlet, Roadblasters, KLAX, Joust, Joust 2, Rampart, Satan's Hollow, Paperboy, Sinister, Root Beer Tapper, Rampage and Super Sprint. And if you can't find at least one game that you were majorly addicted to when it was in the arcade, than perhaps you are too young to fully appreciate the glory of this golden oldies game collection.
The games are all accessed through a rather bizarre interface that looks like a big book tucked away in some ancient archeological dig. Each game is represented by a symbol and when you highlight the symbol a glowing transparent screen of game's introduction sort of floats in the center of the book. Once you pick your game you can choose to play, watch interviews of the people who created the game, flip through some concept art and ads or read some gamer trivia and history. The background on each game is pretty fascinating, especially if you were a fan of the game when it was out in the arcade and adds a lot of value to buying Treasures.
The games themselves are for the most part very accurate ports of the original arcade games ' though some of the games seemed to have different sounds or slightly glitchy graphics. The games are all a blast to play, each an addictive treasure in arcade gaming history.
Unfortunately a big chunk of the games relied on strange controllers when they were in the arcade and the movements don't always translate well on an Xbox controller. For instance the movements in Paperboy, which used a bike handlebar as a controller, are very tricky to perfect, often over steering one way or the other. The same holds true for the handful of games that relied on steering wheels.
One of the really cool features of the Xbox version of this game is that you can go online through Xbox Live to check out the high scores for any of the games or upload your own for bragging rights. It really makes the games that much more fun to play.
Despite a few minor hiccups, Treasures in a well-selected assortment of gaming classics that could easily eat up weeks of your free time and is definitely worth a buy for any arcade gamer buff.
