Abhishekam (Telugu:అభిషేకం) is an IndianTelugu Languagesoap opera that airs on E TV Telugu. It airs from Monday to Saturday during afternoons.[2] It premiered on 22 December 2008 and is the longest-running Indian television soap opera.[3][4][5]
Plot[edit]
Abhishekam is a story of family relationships and human values. Narasimham and Suseela have two children, Vinay and Sumathi. Vinay hates his father because of his drunkardness and womanizing activities because of which he has bought disgrace to the family and also he harasses his mother. Because of Narasimham his daughter dies. With all of these incidents Vinay leaves his home and starts living with Mastaru's family in a village.
He stays with Mastaru for 12 years and during that time Mastaru's daughter Rekha starts loving Vinay. But he keeps her away because this is not acceptable to Rekha's grand mother. After that he becomes a software professional and meets Swathi, the daughter of his boss and marries her. Meanwhile, Vinay meets his mother and Mastaru accidentally.
Vinay comes to know about Mastaru's daughter Rekha that she was in a hospital in a serious condition and doctors have gave up on her condition. On his mother's direction Vinay marries Rekha to fulfill her last wish. But to everyone's surprise Rekha gets recovered and comes to Vinay's home. How Vinay reacts to this and what decision he takes and how he deals with his wife Swathi in this regard forms the crux of the story.

Telugu language network[edit]
The Hyderabad daily newspaper Eenadu (Telugu for 'today') started its own Telugu language channel named Eenadu TV on 27 August 1995.[3]
The flagship company ETPL launched four new television channels in November 2015 - namely ETV life - a health and wellness channel, ETV Abhiruchi, a cookery channel, ETV plus - an entertainment and reality channel, and ETV cinema - a movie channel in Telugu language.
Non Telugu language TV asset[edit]
The network also added regional channels in other Indian languages and built a large local news network using ETV brand after success in Telugu region. Ramoji Group sold its non Telugu language TV asset to TV18 in 2013 with a permission to use ETV brand name.
In March 2015 TV18's Viacom 18 decided to rebrand all five non Telugu language ETV regional general entertainment channels. ETV Marathi, ETV Gujarati, ETV Kannada, ETV Bangla and ETV Odia were rebranded into Colors Marathi, Colors Gujarati, Colors Kannada, Colors Bangla and Colors Odia.[4]
In March 2018, non Telugu language TV asset of TV18 still using ETV brand were rebranded as News18 network.
In April 2016, ETV network added three more regional news channels catering to the audience of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and North East under the brand name of News 18. The channels are named News 18 Kerala, News 18 Tamil Nadu and News 18 Assam NE.
